In October, all persons holding a Real Estate Broker or Salesperson license due to expire in the current year are sent a renewal Notice via mail and email. This also includes those licensed in the current year, those whose status is inactive, active, probation, suspension, etc.
Log into your portal to renew your license after you receive your notice and completed your education and insurance requirements.
Renewal PRIOR to November 30 to avoid late fees. All renewals including the required insurance and education are required to be submitted and/or reported and in our office prior to December 1 to avoid late penalty fees.
LATE RENEWALS - Any salesperson or broker who fails to file an application for renewal of a license and pay the renewal fee by the December 1 date, as provided in the Nebraska Real Estate License Act and Neb. Rev. Stat. ' 49-1203, may file a late renewal application with all required information included and must pay, in addition to the renewal fee, the sum of twenty-five dollars for each month, or fraction thereof, beginning with the first day of December; provided that such late application is filed before July 1 of the ensuing year.
ACTIVE LICENSEES
FOR THOSE RENEWING ON ACTIVE STATUS- You will not be able to complete the renewal form or submit the form unless your continuing education has been met and your error & omissions insurance has been verified to our office.

INACTIVE LICENSEES
LICENSES HELD ON INACTIVE STATUS MUST BE RENEWED TOO. Renewals relating to inactive licenses are subject to the same deadlines.
LICENSEES ISSUED IN THE CURRENT YEAR - YOUR LICENSE EXPIRES DECEMBER 31 OF THIS YEAR
Initial Nebraska real estate licenses are issued for a calendar year. Subsequent renewals are for a 2-year period. Fees are not prorated.
The renewal option is available starting in October of each year. When you log into the portal at https://nrec.nebraska.gov please review the instructions before you start the renewal process.
You will also need to provide proof of errors and omissions insurance prior to renewing your license. Continuing education is not required for your first renewal.
If your license was issued prior to November, you need to renew no later than November 30, to avoid paying a late fee.
If your license was issued in November or December, you will not be charged a late fee for December. However, late fees will start accruing if you renew in January or later.

Branch Office Renewal Information
This section is intended to assist individuals in renewing their real estate branch office license in the State of Nebraska.
NOTE: Branch offices will not be renewed until the designated broker and the managing broker (if other than the designated broker) for the office has renewed his/her broker license.
